University of North Carolina Considering Partnership with Coursera

The University of North Carolina is considering a partnership with massive open online course provider Coursera, reported the Daily Tar Heel If pursued, the partnership would signify a drastic increase in the size of UNC's online education program.

The school's Friday Center for Continuing Education currently offers 138 classes online and reaches about 4,000 students each year. UNC has said that it is still "in the exploration stage of its relationship with Coursera" and that the school is not ready to make a commitment to any one MOOC provider just yet.
