Mostly known for the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip and Area 51, Nevada features a number of universities and colleges that offer classes both online, and in-person. The state’s university system is known as the Nevada System of Higher Education and features seven different colleges and universities. The state’s flagship institution is the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The institution features renown programs in English and creative writing, and also houses an elementary school located on campus. Called the Paradise Professional Development School, it is operated as a partnership between UNLV and the Clark County School District. Reno. Called “The Biggest Little City in the World,” the city of Reno is the most populous Nevada city outside of the greater Las Vegas area. The city is home to more than 220,500 residents. Similar to Las Vegas, Reno is famous for its gaming and casinos.

Henderson. Just minutes from the heart of Las Vegas, Henderson is one of the fastest growing cities in the state. It is home to more than 265,700 residents. The city was founded during World War II, and became a vital establishment for the U. S. Military by supplying magnesium for munitions and aeronautics. The city has since evolved into a sprawling suburb of Las Vegas, and is home to more colleges and universities than any other city in the state.
