Mostly known for the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip and Area 51, Nevada features a number of universities and colleges that offer classes both online, and in-person. The state's university system is known as the Nevada System of Higher Education and features seven different colleges and universities. The state's flagship institution is the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The institution features renown programs in English and creative writing, and also houses an elementary school located on campus. Called the Paradise Professional Development School, it is operated as a partnership between UNLV and the Clark County School District. There are also several other private schools that offer online education in Nevada as well.

• ITT Technical Institute – Las Vegas. A national for-profit chain, ITT Technical Institute has a campus in Las Vegas and offers both associate's and bachelor's degree programs to its 420 students at the physical campus. The school offers programs in business, information technology, engineering technology, and others.
• Northwest Health Careers. Northwest Health Careers is a small for-profit school that focuses on less than one year certificates in healthcare. The school has an enrollment of 244 students. The school offers a variety of certificates programs including dental assisting, massage therapy, phlebotomy and more.
• Pima Medical Institute – Las Vegas. Another for-profit school in Las Vegas to offer healthcare specific education, the Pima Medical Institute offers both certificate and associate programs to its 1,144 students. Prospective students can choose between programs in medical assisting, pharmacy technician, respiratory care, and more.
• University of Nevada – Las Vegas. The flagship institution in the Nevada System of Higher Education, UNLV has an enrollment of more than 28,200 students. Reno. Called "The Biggest Little City in the World," the city of Reno is the most populous Nevada city outside of the greater Las Vegas area. The city is home to more than 220,500 residents. Similar to Las Vegas, Reno is famous for its gaming and casinos.

• DeVry University – Henderson. A popular national for-profit chain, the Henderson campus of DeVry University has an in-person enrollment of 550 students. The school offers associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees in business, information technology, and engineering technology.
• Everest College – Henderson. Another popular for-profit chain to offer a campus in Henderson, Everest College's Henderson campus has an in-person enrollment of more than 1,200 students. Everest offers certificate and associate degrees in either online format, or in-person. Students can choose from a variety of programs including business, healthcare, criminal justice, and legal studies.
• International Academy of Design and Technology – Henderson. The International Academy of Design and Technology has an enrollment of 699 students. The for-profit school offers associate and bachelor's degrees in recording arts, computer graphics, and visual and performing arts.

A major, national for-profit chain, ITT Technical Institute has a campus in Henderson and offers both associate's and bachelor's degree programs to its 907 students at the physical campus. • Roseman University of Health Sciences. Formerly known as the University of Southern Nevada and the Nevada College of Pharmacy, the Roseman University of Health Sciences derived its name from the schools president Dr. Harry Rosenberg and pharmacy school dean Dr. Renee Coffman.
