Antioch University Partners With Coursera to Offer MOOC’s for Credit

Antioch University became one of the first U.S. institutions to offer credit for massive open online courses. The partnership will allow students to reduce the cost of a four-year degree by taking classes through MOOC provider Coursera.

Unlike some of the other classes offered through Coursera, the classes offered by Antioch's Los Angeles campus won't be free. However, the university has said that they will be offered for less than the per-course cost of tuition and fees at either of the California public university systems.

In October Antioch and Coursera created a pilot program that allowed the university's students to enroll in two classes for credit and based on the response from student and faculty the school decided to begin offering three classes in January.
